These cyclists not only cycled at the “Avangard” Cycle Track in Kiev, but also in the streets of Kiev.  The Cycle Track is a historical and cultural memorial of the Ukraine and is 90 years old.  Artem Pastuhov, prize-winner of the Ukrainian junior cycle race, biked with them.  Team Sarcoma/Ukraine members disseminated information about the diagnosis and treatment of cancers. They erected a poster and distributed leaflets to raise public awareness about sarcoma.  These cyclists biked approximately 40 KM (approximately 25 miles) and tallied 840 KM (approximately 525 miles) for sarcoma awareness.

The 7 cyclists that biked on the Ukrainian team based in Zhytomir are:

These cyclists chose an extremely hard route, about 60 km (approximately 38 miles) through wild forests, fields, swamps, rocks and hills. The bike tour started near Zhytomir State University of Technology.  They crossed four rivers and biked through eight villages. "Zhytomir Wave", a local Ukrainian radio station, gave a brief report about their bike tour.  These cyclists tallied 420 KM (approximately 263 miles)  for sarcoma awareness.  News coverage of Team Sarcoma/Ukraine can be found on our Press Coverage page and the sponsors for their T-Shirts on the Sponsors page.
